Corporate Social Responsibility Programme

IDCR-Glowinkowski Corporate Social Responsibility Programme

The IDCR has teamed up with Colchester-based Glowinkowski International, a management consulting and performance enhancement company, to offer a dynamic and highly engaging corporate social responsibility programme.

Entitled ‘Crafting Social Responsibility’, the programme combines Glowinkowksi’s industry-proven human resource measurement and analysis tools with the IDCR’s expertise in the global agenda to enhance corporate social responsibility.

As a member of the United Nations Global Compact, the IDCR draws on expertise from different Departments and Centres across the University of Essex working on topics relevant to corporate social responsibility, including business ethics, environmental impact, labour rights and human rights more generally.

The programme offers a five stage development packagefor companies that includes a change management system with a proven track record over many years of application across a wide range of Glowinkowski clients, including companies in the following sectors:

  1. Banking and financial services
  2. Retail
  3. Consumer goods
  4. Chemical and pharmaceuticals
  5. Education
  6. Property and construction
  7. Science and technology
  8. Industrial and manufacturing
  9. Travel and transport
  10. Oil and energy
  11. Government and public sector
  12. Communication and technology

The change management system is geared towards moving beyond ‘box-ticking’ exercises typical of existing CSR policies and programmes, and engages with senior management at the boardroom level to change corporate behaviour and the corporate climate in ways that make the business activities of firms more in line with the ten principles of the UN Global Compact.

The programme is predicated on the idea that ‘doing good’ is ‘good for business’ and applies the performance enhancing models of engagement that Glowinkowksi has used to change leadership behavior and increase business revenue streams.

The importance of corporate social responsibility and how company policies can move beyond ‘box ticking’  and ‘greenwashing’ are developed in a series of blogs.

The overall idea of blending Glowinkowski’s product line into a CSR programme has been developed in a short article by IDCR Director Professor Todd Landman and Dr. Steve Glowinkowski Founder and Principal Consultant, Glowinkowski International and Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute of Health, Medical Science and Society, Gleyndwr University.
