Briefing papers added

The IDCR is pleased to announce that three new briefing papers have been added. These papers are free to download and address a wide range of issues of contemporary concern. The three new papers are:

  • Why It’s Good to Talk – An Introduction to Mediation ~ Helen Menezes (Greater London and East Anglia Mediation, GLEAMED)
  • The Political Economy of Opium in Afghanistan ~ Dr. Vincenzo Bove, AXA Postdoctoral Fellow (Government at Essex).
  • Technology, Terrorism, Counter Terrorism and the Implications for Ethics and Human Rights ~ Jonathan Crook, Cyberalpha.

    IDCR welcomes a new staff member

    The IDCR is pleased to welcome Dr Dorothea Farquhar to the team as the new PA to the Director. Dr Farquhar has a background in finance and accounting, higher education and a PhD from the Department of Government at the University of Essex.

    She has worked on a number of research projects for the University of Essex and in particular has provided research for the IDCR’s project on parliamentary strengthening.
