Ecocide Schools Competition

‘Valuing Our Environment’

Art and Design Competition for Schools

On the 31 March 2012 the University of Essex will host a one-day conference on Ecocide, a legal concept of ‘crime against nature’.

The event has been coordinated by the Hamilton Group and the Institute for Democracy and Conflict Resolution.

We would like to invite school children in Essex to enter a competition to draw, make and/or design artwork representing their views of the environment. These art works will be displayed during the event at the University.

This can be done as part of a school class to raise awareness of environmental degradation or part of an art class, or even by children at home.

There is no limit on the size of the artwork, entrants can work individually or separately. Winners will be invited to a prize giving ceremony on the Colchester campus on 31 March.
